The LGA line of stationary, high-performance beveling machines utilizes ceramic grinding belts to quickly and easily bevel the edges of even the largest and thickest metal plates. 

The LGA Series of high-performance beveling machines are designed especially for high volume plate beveling. These machines utilize an abrasive belt that can process a variety of metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty metals with high alloy content including Nickel (Ni), Titanium (Ti), and Chromium (Cr).

The LGA Series beveling machines can bevel materials up to a rate of 10 ft/min by utilizing a ceramic grinding belt that is up to 6″ wide and can produce an accurate bevel face of up to 4″. The speed and efficiency of these machines will return your investment quickly.

The plate is pneumatically clamped onto a support table and the grinding belt, which moves on a rail system, bevels the plate in one or more passes. The LGA Series III machines offer the ability to apply top and bottom bevels. The control unit can store up to 200 programs and can recall desired chamfer angles and chamfer depths. Programming can be performed either manually or by using the “Teach-In” option. An exhaust system and extended support tables are available as optional equipment.

LGA Series I

Main features include:

  • Chamfer angle: 0° to 80°
  • Plate length: up to 10 feet
  • Plate thickness: up to 4 inch
  • Chamfer width: 0.040 – 2.4 inch

The LGA Series I is the entry-level series to high-performance abrasive belt beveling. The LGA 1600 I is a 5′ wide model while the LGA 3000 I is a 10′ wide model. Each model can apply bevels up to 2.4″ wide within a range of 0° to 80°. Their compact size and versatility make these models an excellent investment.

LGA Series II

  • Plate thickness: up to 4 inch
  • Chamfer width: 0.040 – 4 inch

The LGA Series II is the workhorse of the LGA line of beveling machines. It is our most popular model and the ideal balance between cost and performance. It is available in three sizes up to 20′ wide. Bevels up to 4″ wide within a range of 0° – 90° are possible. The applications are virtually endless.

LGA Series III

  • Top chamfer angle: 0° to 90°
  • Bottom chamfer angle: 0° – 45°
  • Plate length: up to 20 feet
  • Plate thickness: up to 4 inch
  • Chamfer width: 0.040 – 4 inch

The LGA Series III represents the top of the line of the LGA beveling machines. In addition to all the capabilities that the LGA Series II provides for beveling the top of the plates, the LGA Series III machines offer the capability to apply bevels on the bottom of the plates – all in the same clamping. Therefore, in addition to the 0° – 90° bevels on top, they can apply 0° – 45° bevels on the bottom of the plate. The cost-savings can be substantial, especially when heavier workpieces are involved and cranes are required to manipulate the plates or when this option does not even exist.
